Ziegler Ariana Rug carpet from Afghanistan.

This carpet is knotted in Afghanistan using traditional techniques from Arak in Persia. The British company Zeigler . in England started manufacturing these carpets for the European market in the 1870's. The patterns are often copied from Persian carpets. The wool is of high quality and the colour comes from natural vegetable dyes.
