Lilja is a finnish word and means lily in english. For me it is a symbol of beaty and purity. The monstera is here as contrast to heighten this purity. The whole motif is like jin and jang in chinese mytology.

Minulle Iilja on kauneuden ja puhtauden symboli. Peikonlehti on vastakohtana korostamassa tätä puhtautta. Kompasitio on kiinalaisen jin ja jang mytologian vastine.

About Sirkka Kukkohovi

As an artist and designer I am interested about symbolism, metaphoras and meanings. It is interesting, how for example a cross can represent a whole credo. With motifs of real world , as lily and monstera, my aim is to describe somerhing abstract, wich is not touchable.

Taiteilijana ja suunnittelija minua kiehtoo symboliikka, vertaukset ja merkitykset. Minusta on mielenkiintoista, miten esimerkiksi johonkin merkkiin, kuten ristiin, kiteytyy kokonainen uskomusjärjestelmä. Todellisen maailman kuvilla, kuten liljalla ja peikonlehdellä, pyrin kuvaamaan jotain abstraktia, jotain joka ei ole käsin kosketeltavaa.

Excellent Service and Products
I wanted to reserve a carpet as I was abroad when I made my choice and there was only 1 left. I was able to telephone and speak to a very helpful lady who arranged for the carpet to be delivered 2 days after my return 3 weeks later. A week later, I chose another one with a 10% further discount for buying again and that arrived promptly also after another discussion with another helpful lady. I now have 2 fabulous rugs at a very decent price. Yes, the 'Handloom Fringe' carpet is shedding where one sits but I well remember a fitted carpet shedding for 6 months prior to stopping. So I hope it will stop eventually. DPD deliver promptly.
