The design is made from the patterns I created using a cherry wood stick on a large stoneware bowl. Then the fire did it all.

Il disegno è realizzato a partire dal pattern che ho creato utilizzando una stecca di legno di ciliegio su di una grossa ciotola in gres. Il resto è merito del fuoco.

About Davide Valenti

Was born in the hills of northern Italy, on 29 January of 1983.
He studied Natural Sciences and Freshwater Ecology in Bologna and worked as a biologist across Europe and South America.
One day he met ceramics in Varzi, a village of medieval fondation, breathtaking landscapes, beautifull people and good salami.
Now is studing ceramic design in the cradle of ceramic arts, Faenza.
He finds inspiration in ceramics but loves to explore new paths in different materials and tecniques.

Nato tra le colline del nord Italia, il 29 gennaio del 1983.
Studia Scienze Naturali ed Ecologia delle acque dolci a Bologna e lavora come biologo in Europa e Sud America.
Un giorno incontra la ceramica a Varzi, un villaggio di fondazione medievale, paesaggi mozzafiato, belle persone e buon salame.
Ora sta studiando design ceramico nella culla della ceramica artistica, Faenza.
Trova ispirazione nella ceramica, ma ama esplorare nuovi percorsi attraverso materiali e tecniche differenti.

Excellent Service and Products
I wanted to reserve a carpet as I was abroad when I made my choice and there was only 1 left. I was able to telephone and speak to a very helpful lady who arranged for the carpet to be delivered 2 days after my return 3 weeks later. A week later, I chose another one with a 10% further discount for buying again and that arrived promptly also after another discussion with another helpful lady. I now have 2 fabulous rugs at a very decent price. Yes, the 'Handloom Fringe' carpet is shedding where one sits but I well remember a fitted carpet shedding for 6 months prior to stopping. So I hope it will stop eventually. DPD deliver promptly.
