DOVETAIL FRANCESCA VEDOVATO United Kingdom United Kingdom

I'm a 23 years old graphic designer with a curious and dreaming mind. I'm from Italy but I'm currently based in London, where I work for a small studio. I'm fascinated by art, colors, shapes, and handmade projects. I believe in the power of details and in the clever exercise. A good design to me, is born by these values.

I am a "young" fifty-years-old artist: mainly a painter and mosaicist, but not only. I live and work in Venice. I am interested in every possible expression of art, from calligraphy to illustrations for children, from origami to prints on fabric. I also create clothes, hats, bags, knitting and embroidery. I find inspiration in the naturale and in the animal worlds which allow me to enjoy using different colors, materials and supports.

SUNSET CLOUDS TSUNEYASU ISHIKAWA Japan Japan

Currently, I am creative director of advertisement production. My advertisement production policy is that people who saw the advertisement can dream of the life that uses the product and use the product to imagine the scene(wonderful sunset). The production policy of this "Carpet design" is also the same.

CITY PEAR Love Helander Norway Norway

I am a 25 year old artist based in Oslo, where I just finished my bachelor's degree in free art. As a painter I find inspiration in textiles and patterns, shapes and colour contrasts. Scale and size are two important factors in my work as I want the meeting with painting to be both a visual and bodily experience. Therefore, this competition has been an exciting challenge for me since I have been able to work with my themes but from a completely different angle. Here painting can become textile and the body can interact with the work in a new way, since you can experience it by standing in the middle of it and making it a part of your home.

With inspiration ranging from woven textiles and tribal motifs to art deco and even illustration, Nika is constantly striving to bring joy and happiness to her viewers as well as learn new techniques and further her artistic talent.

HONORABLE MENTION

Beside the 10 top winners based on votes, the Jury selected their favorite design. ”With a three-dimensional background, new and unexpected coloring, a classic pattern is taken to a new level that breathes both contemporary and future. A new classic with a contemporary twist".

TILDA IRINA BARTELS Germany Germany

I studied fashion in Hamburg, live in Frankfurt am Main and work internationally as a costume designer for opera and theater. My father is an enthusiastic carpet fan and assembler and a couple of years ago he gave me my first carpet. Since then i’m fascinated by the options of effects carpets can offer in a room. This Design could be a drapery of fabric. The alienation in terms of colour gives a classy touch to the leopard pattern and is as well exciting and lively.

History

Over the years CarpetVista have had the privilege of viewing over 20.000 beautiful designs, from more than 90 countries.

For some of our designers, joining the competition has changed their careers. For others, it has challenged the way they look at carpets. Above all, it has hopefully filled their hearts with joy.
