This carpet is hand knotted in a classic, oriental style with inspiration from antique Persian Sarouk carpets. They are called American Sarouk since they were originally intended for the American market. The carpet, which is often dark blue or pink, is made by hand in studios in Varanasi in India. In their manufacture high class and soft highland wool is used which is dyed in a harmonic colour scheme with natural colours in a traditional way. The carpet is antique-treated in order to get their special, somewhat toned-down appearance.
