This carpet is hand knotted/woven; therefore, difference in shape, thickness, pattern and sizes can occur. This applies particularly to nomadic and village carpets.

These carpets are knotted in workshops in the city of Nain in central Persia, near Isfahan. The carpets are generally very light with a cream-coloured or deep-blue bottom colour and a large medallion in the center. High knot density and high-class material gives carpets of high quality. Silk migth occur and 6La means that three pairs of threads are used for every warp-thread. They are manufactured in most sizes and the carpets are among the most beautiful in the world and very popular among collectors.

The foundation "Sherkat Farsh" was founded about 70 years ago. The purpose with the foundation was to uphold the traditions of the Persian carpet culture and to maintain the quality in the country's carpet production.
