This carpet is handwoven in the city of Sanandaj which lies in the province of Kurdistan in western Persia. The pattern consists of rhombs, mir-e buteh and herati and the carpet is dominated by red and dark blue colours. The wool is generally of high quality.

Woollen hand knotted carpet
The colour and the patteri of the carpet is Lovel, the fabric also. The lack of one star is because, there is a ’Wave’ in the carpet, which I believe has accured, when the carpet has been stored folded. I, however, trust that it will disappear after the carpet has layed on the floor for a while.
