CarpetVista review

RugVista = a top-notch experience

I am a demanding, hard-to-satisfy client but notwithstanding that, I am endlessly happy not only with the carpet but also with the service. All my queries were appropriately answered and the staff were always very kind and attentive, so much so that they even conjured up that bazaar feeling for me, which I love so much.

This the second carpet I buy from CarpetVista and the quality, colour and workmanship are just what you see online and I was both times not disappointed. My only criticism is that both carpets I purchased were 2 cm smaller (in both length and width) than stated on the website...... don't know how they measure things........

Exceeded Expectation

The carpet looked like what we ordered from the website, and is excellent condition. Immediate and trouble-free shipping. It looks great in our 19th-century home, and we are quite happy with this purchase.

Specifications

Carpet ID VXX7
Knot density approx 360 000 knots per m²

You can easily calculate the knot density yourself by counting the number of knots 1 cm down and 1 cm across, and then multiplying these numbers together. Then multiply the total by 10,000 to give the number of knots per m².

Some carpet sellers exaggerate the knot density, so to be sure that you are comparing like for like when it comes to price, it is worth checking the knot density yourself. Most of CarpetVista’s carpets have a photograph of the reverse with a ruler, making it easy to examine the knot quality and count the exact knot density before choosing your carpet.

Pile Wool
Wool is a natural textile fibre and one of the most sought after materials for rug making. Wool rugs are highly durable and perfectly capable of resisting wear and tear of every day use. Wool has a naturally dirt-repelling effect and is easy to keep clean. It is also flame resistant and characteristically retains it’s shape so that the pile of the rug always rises.
Warp Cotton
Manufacturing Knotted by hand
Elaborate weaving technique with specialized artisans tying knots to form rows of pile either by cutting each individual knot or an entire row of knots. Hand-knotting takes time and also allows for intricate patterns.
Also known as Kirman
Size 290x600

This carpet is hand knotted/woven; therefore, difference in shape, thickness, pattern and sizes can occur. This applies particularly to nomadic and village carpets.

CarpetVista Collectible

An exceptionally large mid 20th century Kerman produced for the American market and royal palaces.

This oversized Kerman carpet was specially produced for the American market, stately homes and royal palaces in the 1950's. The American market trend was for thicker piled and larger sized carpets, often with less detailing and softer pastel coloring than their Persian counterparts.

East meets West

The wool used in this carpet is velvety and luminous giving the carpet a graceful and luxurious feel. The intricate and curvilinear motifs show how the weavers were able to cater for the western demand for more softer colour tones and designs, but still maintain the traditional motifs associated with the Kerman carpets. This semi-antique piece has a double medallion set on an ivory/beige field, with a floral detailing rendered with different shades of brown.

These unusually sized Kerman carpets are becoming increasingly sought after by the modern day collector and carpet enthusiast. They are predicted to be good investments in the long run.

Kerman signed: carpet from Persia / Iran.

This carpet is knotted in workshops in the city of Kerman in southeastern Persia. A large number of carpets are sold to the courts around the world. The ground colour is often red, and the pattern is dominated by a large medallion and a wide border filled with flowers.
