Tabriz is without a doubt one of the most famous weaving centres in the world and has a long and rich cultural heritage of carpet making that dates back as far as the 15th century. The city is located in the North Western part of modern day Iran and has gained an impressive reputation as one of the world's biggest carpet exporters.

The design repertoire is known to be amongst the most diverse of all Persian carpet types. These carpets are found in a wide variety of sizes, shapes and patterns and do not have any distinct traditional colour scheme. The carpets, like most other carpet types, fetch their inspiration from religion, architecture, music, poetry and other forms of Persian culture. It is however the integration of these influences that set Tabriz carpets apart from other carpet types, as they are harmoniously merged in an incredible way to fit in with the designs and colour palettes.
