Turkimanistan carpet

This carpet is knotted in Turkmenistan. Both wool and silk are used for the pile. The patterns are repetative with Göl and often wide borders on the shorter sides, but not on the long-sides. Red, the whole scale from violet to brown, are the dominating colour. The carpet is an excellent piece of craftmanship.
