Information about Sarouk Sherkat Farsh carpet REJ14 from Persia / Iran. This carpet is knotted in a large area surrounding the village of Sarouk in the western parts of central Persia. The carpet, often red or blue, is manufactured with a number of different patterns, but often have a centrally placed medallion and a distinct defined border. The wool used is of high quality and treated to lustre and the carpet is thick and durable. A Sherkat is more exact and finer than other Sarouk carpets.

The foundation "Sherkat Farsh" was founded about 70 years ago. The purpose with the foundation was to uphold the traditions of the Persian carpet culture and to maintain the quality in the country's carpet production.
